System Specialist

Join Lumera and Drive Solutions in Life & Pensions Technology

Are you a keen problem-solver who thrives on complex challenges? Do you want to make a difference working with a product that underpins society? If you have strong SQL skills and enjoy collaborating within a close-knit specialist team, Lumera wants to hear from you.

Lumera is a pioneering provider of future-proof, API-driven platforms transforming the Life and Pensions industry. As a System Specialist in our Incident Services/Center of Expertise, you’ll be part of a company at the forefront of digital transformation — supporting large insurers and pension organisations across Europe in navigating complex system modernisations.

Location: Hybrid in Stockholm (Regeringsgatan office), Sweden. Work from the office with the option for up to two days of remote work per week.

Employment: Full-time

Department: Incident Services / Center of Expertise

The Role

As a System Specialist, you will:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in our core system and directly in SQL.
  • Deliver temporary solutions, often using SQL scripts, for customers facing system defects.
  • Investigate root causes, assess impact, and determine if multiple customers are affected.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, specialists, and developers to support business-critical operations.
  • Participate in customer forums focused on production-related discussions.
  • Be part of a specialist team that supports, shares knowledge, and values collaborative work.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of your investigations and drive solutions independently.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong, hands-on experience and documented proficiency with SQL, especially for troubleshooting and analysing business systems.
  • Is comfortable navigating complex, mission-critical business applications and unravelling the underlying data models and processes.
  • Enjoys customer-facing work, including technical investigations, clear communication about solutions and risks, and structuring analyses in both Swedish and English.
  • Can manage responsibilities independently while remaining a supportive team player.
  • Shares knowledge proactively and is eager to help colleagues grow—ideally, you see the value of AI in accelerating this.
  • Has genuine curiosity for continuous learning and thrives on variety in their work.
  • Experience in the life and pensions insurance sector is a significant plus.

You’ll excel in this role if you’ve handled advanced troubleshooting in critical systems, enjoy multifaceted analysis, and are looking for a meaningful role shaping the digital transformation of the pensions industry.

Why Join Lumera?

  • A mission-driven company defining the digital future of insurance and pensions administration.
  • A close-knit, supportive specialist team that emphasises open knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
  • Career growth opportunities where individual initiative and responsibility are valued.
  • A modern office in central Stockholm, combined with the flexibility of remote work up to two days per week.
  • Focus on employee well-being, supporting both physical and mental health.
  • Work with a business-critical product with a genuine societal impact.

Our culture values competence, curiosity, and solution-focus. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy tackling tough technical challenges with purpose, we think you’ll fit right in.
